Thank You for Bills, and this is What You Get

March 7, 2009 - Posted In Keep Your Ear to the Door 5 Comments

Once again I want to say thanks to everyone who came out to Bill’s. This was a great show, and the Band and myself had a great time. Also I know Pete Bartash is thankful for the crew who took the mini journey to go catch him rock out the drum kit over at Copperfields with Rich Kuhn later in the night.

We never stop working at Stem Co. and we got more stuff coming on the horizon. One of these things is another Free, 3 hour Show at Portobellies in downtown Brighton, which all are welcome for the “All Stem All Day”. (ASAD)

Another thing we have been working on is getting recordings of the songs we play all the time. NothingĀ  professional, but we are working on getting them out for your listening pleasure for those of you who only have the Album, and just can’t get enough of the boys. In fact we are working on another Ear to the Door volume which will have these tasty treats on it that you will be able to download here and pick up at a show.

On that note here is another great tune, called What You Get. We wrote it around the same time as Lost Love, and Nervous, which came after we recorded the album . It’s a grooving rock tune with a kick ass ending. Enjoy… If this is a song you want to hear live at Portobellies then let us know.

Great song! I definitely would like to hear it live at Portobellies, along with Nervous. You guys haven’t played that song in a while. I think it’s time to bring it back!

  2. Tony Says:

Thank you sir, I think portobellies can be arranged for you.

Superb, my friend. Also, I was curious as to when you and the boys where planning on using the splatterbox again. It was a big hit at O’Brien’s, maybe Stem should implement it more in their shows… Your thoughts?

Great Question, I would love to bring the splatter box out on all occasions. However there are several underlying problems with the splatter box. One is that it makes some people angry, such was the case at Copperfields. We don’t really care about pissing people off all that much which brings me to its more dominate flaw.

The thing is Fucking Huge!!! and not even remotely light weight, hence, why it scares some bar owners (they think its going to explode). Also due to the large size, we can’t always fit it in the car. So we have to choose between a kick drum, or the splatter box, and Matt would not sound as good if he didn’t have a kick drum.

I have a plan to shrink it down so it rests on top of my bass amp in a much smaller scale. However like all my ideas they require implementing.

Yes, that’s right, I remember that night. The whole “water-base paint fire that will cause massive explosion to leave hundreds in a fiery blaze” ordeal. That bartender… What an idiot. Anyways, I agree though. I wouldn’t condone to piss anyone off, especially to those who may be potential fans. The splatter box does need a makeover. As always, I offer my services to help out any way I can. You just say the word.
