Acceleration Jam

August 21, 2008 - 8:26 pm 1 Comment

Here is another tasty a number. It’s a long one clocking in at about 20 something minutes. All instrumental funky jam rock that goes in to some hard core face punching rock. You can tell how much we like a jam by how long we play for and this is one of our longest. I recommend checking in around 8:00 minutes cause that’s when we crank the rock level to 11!

Tasty Jam #537 Keep Me In This Place

August 8, 2008 - 11:13 am No Comments

Here at Stem Co, we have a huge back log of crazy jams, its just a matter of getting them all up on line for your listening pleasure. A lot of these we don’t have titles before because they tend to happen once and then we never remember to play them again. Its part of the fun really, keeps the set different each time so when you fine people come to hear us play more then once you get something a little different each time.

This Jam “Keep Me In Place” is a funky little rock number that we tinkered around that gets a nice little edge to it. If you like funky rock like I do you’ll like this one. Its a shorter one around 6 minutes which for a jam for us is really short…..

Don't Let Me Down

Here is yet another tasty reggae jam. A long one running around 14 minutes long. The majority of the jam is at a steady medium pace. My favorite part is the Bassline, surprise surprise, but if you listen with headphones on you can here a pretty nasty lick (not that I pat my self on the back or anything). Matt Smiths guitar melody between the vocals is incredibly perfect, which compliments the sickest vocal melody I’ve ever heard in jams of ours.

The end of the song is rather kick ass as it goes into a long soulful guitar solo and then ends with extreme in your face Rock n Roll awesomeness!
F*&%king sweet stuff for sure….

Slidey McSlidester

So we Jam a lot, and when I say a lot, i really do mean a lot. In fact we tend to play at least one song a set that is entirely improvised. It keeps things fresh for us, and if we do it right it doesn’t suck for everyone else. So we are going to Start Showcasing our jams on this blog. So hopefully every week will have a new tune for you listening pleasure.

This Jam is instrumental track featuring aj on a lapsteel guitar. this was his first lap steel that got stolen in NY after a gig at the Annex back in January. So this tune is from 2007. The riff started with something Matt smith was playing, a very bluesy rock style. Butler then hit record and started in with a Kick drum. Aj then finishes tunning and joins in. I fade the song in, and if you listen you hear aj doing the last bit of tuning and then getting started.
